Welcome to Grace's Music Studio!

Lessons are currently being offered in your home, in the Issaquah/Sammamish area.

I am currently accepting beginning to advanced pianists, and flutists of all ages and levels.

By taking lessons you will...

  • Learn to develop proper playing technique

  • Learn fun and efficient practice techniques to teach your future students

  • Have many performance opportunities for friends and family

  • Have opportunities to actively compete in local competitions and events

  • Meet musicians your age

  • Be more immersed in the flute community and make connections

  • Have fun!

If you are interested in taking lessons, please take a look at my studio policy below!

Studio Policy

Welcome to my studio! I look forward to working with you and creating music together. During our time together we will work on the following and more: Tone development, technical skills, posture, hand position, efficient practicing techniques, basic theory, and learning to listen to professional recordings efficiently while applying what you hear to your own playing.

What you need for each lesson

Piano

  • Piano/keyboard in good working condition (If you need help in either buying or renting an instrument, please ask me for assistance!)

  • A notebook (80-100 pages)

  • Pencil

  • Your music, of course!

Flute

  • Music stand

  • A notebook (80-100 pages)

  • Cleaning cloth and rod

  • Metronome

  • Tuner

  • Pencil

Lessons and Scheduling

  • Lessons are once a week. If you would like to have a different schedule, it is open for discussion.

  • In each lesson, we will work on tone production, technique, and solo repertoire. The student may bring anything else they would like to work on, such as band music or music they are working on for performances in the community.

Attendance

Consistency in lessons are important for a student’s learning trajectory. Instead of canceling lessons for the week, I strongly encourage you to reschedule for another day! I will do my best to accommodate you.

  • If you must cancel a lesson, please let me know through email 24 hours minimum in advance.

  • If you must make a last minute cancellation, please text or call and leave a voicemail. Although I check my email multiple times a day, I may be busy and unable to read your email before your lesson time.

  • If I must cancel a lesson, I will notify you as soon as possible and attempt to reschedule a make-up lesson.

Books

I do require specific etude and technique books. However, because every student starts at a different level, I will email you the list of books you will need after your first lesson.

Rates

Monthly tuition: Please note that I only charge for 4 lessons a month. I do not charge for the 5th week to balance any missed lessons that we are unable to make up, and holidays.

30 minute lessons- $240

45 minute lessons- $260

60 minute lessons- $280

Discontinuing Lessons

If you would like to stop lessons for any reason at all, please let me know a month in advance.

Practice

Students and parents should work to find a daily, uninterrupted practice schedule. This is a great way to consistently apply what you have learned, and also a great time to work on repertoire with a pianist.

Studio Recitals

As my studio is mostly beginning students, we will aim for one recital a year.
